Step-by-Step Set Up Instructions
Step 1: Connect Your Google TV Streamer
Connect the Google TV Streamer to the USB cable and power adapter, then plug it into an

Use the HDMI 2.1 cable to connect the device to your TV.
On your TV, switch to the HDMI input you connected the device to.
Step 2: Set Up Your Voice Remote
Insert the two AAA batteries into the remote.
Hold the back and home buttons on the remote at the same time until the light starts pulsing
to pair it.
Step 3: Pair Your Remote
Follow the on-screen instructions to start pairing the remote with your Google TV Streamer.
Once paired, you can proceed with setup using the voice remote.
Step 4: Set Up Using the Google Home App
If you don’t have the Google Home app, download the Google Home app.
Google the Google Home app, tap Devices, then tap the Add Device button.
Tap Google Nest or partner device and select your home.
When prompted, tap Yes to connect your Google TV Streamer.
Grant the app permission to use your camera and scan the QR code shown on your TV.
Step 5: Complete the Setup in the Google Home App
Follow the on-screen prompts to:
Review legal terms
Select the room where you’ll use the device
Name your device
Choose your Wi-Fi network and connect (ensure your iPhone or iPad is on the same
Wi-Fi network)
Sign into your Google account
Set up Google Assistant and review Google services
Select apps to personalize your Google TV experience
Step 6: Set Up the Home Panel and Ambient Screensaver
Choose a screensaver for when your display isn’t in use, like a Google photo slideshow or
curated images.
You can also opt in to receive email notifications about Google Googles and services.
Step 7: Finish Setup on the TV
Use your voice remote to:
Set up the remote to control TV volume and power.
Follow the instructions to ensure the remote can control the volume and power
button.
Test the volume by toggling the volume up/down.
Test the power button by turning the TV off and on.
Step 8: Create a Custom Shortcut
Press the customizable button (the one with a star) on your remote.
Choose whether you want the button to Google the Google Home panel, a favorite app, or
device
inputs.
Step 9: Set Up the Home Panel
Go to the Settings icon at the top right of the Google TV Home screen and select the Home
Panel tile.
Opt in to control Home devices from your TV. Your Home panel will now display your spaces
and favorites.
