Steps to Resolve Chromecast Setup Issue (Post-Factory Reset)
Step 1: Change Your Phone's Date to March 7th:

On iOS device::
- Go to your phone’s Settings.
- Navigate to System > Date & Time.
- Disable Automatic date & time.
- Manually set the date to March 7th.
- Important: Make sure you’ve changed the date manually and it's saved before proceeding.
Step 2: Close the Google Home App:
- Why: This ensures the Google Home app restarts with the new date settings.
Step 3: Reopen the Google Home App and Reattempt Chromecast Setup:
- Launch the Google Home app again.
- Proceed with the setup of your Chromecast:
- Tap the ‘+’ button at the top left.
- Select Set up device > Set up new devices.
- Follow the instructions to connect your Chromecast to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure that your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Chromecast.
Step 4: Wait for Chromecast to Connect to the Internet and Update:
- After completing the setup, allow your Chromecast time to connect to the internet and
download any necessary updates.
- This should resolve the connection issue and allow the device to function as expected.
Step 5: Turn Your Phone's Date Back to the Current Date:
- Once the setup is successful and your Chromecast is working, remember to reset your phone’s
date.
- Go back to Settings > System > Date & Time.
- Re-enable Automatic date & time to restore your device’s current time and date.
Step 6: (Optional) Restart the Chromecast:

If the Chromecast still faces connectivity issues after the setup:
- Unplug the Chromecast from its power source for a few seconds and plug it back in.
- Wait for the device to reboot and try connecting again.
Additional Considerations:
- Wi-Fi Connectivity: Ensure that your Chromecast and the phone are on the same Wi-Fi network
and the Wi-Fi network is stable.
- Updates: The Chromecast might take some time to update after the setup. Let it run for a few
minutes and check back.
- Try Again: If the issue persists, consider repeating the steps, ensuring that the Google
Home app is completely closed before each attempt.
